OPLASA members work through all shipping agents in South Africa to ensure optimum services to international shipping lines. Be sure to ask your agent for an OPLASA member to ensure the safe and reliable delivery of your crew and ship supplies. 


Membership

Membership is open to all companies offering OPL services from one or more ports in South Africa provided that they have been in operation for at least six months and hold valid company registration documents as well as port licences for operating as an OPL service provider.

All approved members must be able to demonstrate the necessary experience and access to suitable equipment to undertake safe OPL services as prescribed by the South African Maritime Safety Authority or any other regulatory body's requirements, which may be updated from time to time.

OPLASA members must employ marine crews consisting of South African citizens that are properly qualified, certificated and experienced.

Prospective members must apply on the prescribed membership form (see link below) and need to be proposed by an existing member and seconded by two different Board Members.

Applications for membership that do not comply with the conditions of membership may be refused by the Governing Board.
